I
started training in Karate when I was 7 and loved it right from the start. Actually, I think I starting liking it before
I was born. My Dad was in karate when he
was younger and it seems only natural that I would like it too. My Dad will sometimes say I’m better than he
was at my age, but then again, he also says he never goofed around when he was
a kid, and I have a hard time believing that.
Sometimes, he still goofs around now! J There are so many
things about Karate that I love – it’s hard to come up with just a few. I could probably talk about it for
hours. I have met some amazing friends
through my competitions & even though I may only see them a few times a
year, I remember their names and when and where we met. We exchange compliments, techniques, and
strategies. There is always something to
learn from the person next to you, no matter if or where they place. Defeat and victory lie around the same
corner. I have to push myself not only
in technique, but also in character. Of
course, I’m still 11 and my Mom says I have 11-year “spunk” (and sometimes “’tude”). I’m known for my big humble heart & my
sense of humor. Maybe a few dance moves
too!! Karate represents respect, dedication,
determination, and discipline to me – all while surrounding yourself with
amazing people. I think that’s pretty
awesome!!

That's my Dad when he was 12!! |
Anyway, I guess I should start from
the beginning. I couldn’t wait to come
in to the world and decided to make my grand appearance a month early. I was only 4 lbs 12 oz when I was born and 16”
long. My Mom & Dad say I was a
really good baby, but I don’t remember back that far. I mean, who remembers being a baby! I think somebody forgot to give me the memo that
I was early, cause I walked, talked, and…well, did most everything early. Four years later, my brother was born. He was even earlier than I was! My brother is crazy. He is so funny sometimes and is a great
impersonator! We get along really good
most of the time and he’s pretty fun to wrestle with! …well, until he gets mad. Hahaha!
My Mom and Dad are the best in the world. They support me and guide me to make the
right choices. My friends love my
parents too, but they know we can’t get away with just anything!

Mom Snowboards, I Ski :) |
When I grow up, I really want to be
a fighter pilot. My dream jet to fly is
an F-22 Raptor, but I’ll settle for an F-15 Eagle or F-18 Hornet. An A-10 Warthog wouldn’t be bad either. I’ve actually co-piloted a few planes, though
the Cessna is a little different than a fighter jet. I’d also like to be chef. I can come up with some very interesting meals,
one of which was a Moose Meat Pizza Burger.
Mmmm!! My parents say I can do
anything as long as I focus and work hard.

Being Silly with my Brother |
I love staying active and I have
plenty of activities to keep me busy!
Aside from Karate, I also play baseball, soccer, and am hoping to play
golf over the summer and Lacrosse next season.
I run really fast and earned the nickname “Cheetah” on my baseball
team. I also really enjoy swimming,
drawing, and playing my trumpet. Just
yesterday, I won a certificate for Outstanding Performance in the brass section
from our band teacher. SWEET! My
brother, my friends, and I have some pretty awesome Nerf Gun Battles at my
house sometimes. We also have made up some really cool games on the trampoline. I've mastered the front flip, but my brother still needs to figure out how to land on his feet! He'll get there! I love to build with Legos
and have made some amazing creations with them.
I even posted a few of them on Lego.com!! Legoland is one of the places I hope to see in the life!
I have some of the most amazing
people in my life and I love them all!
Well, I have to go – homework time!
Thanks for reading! ~D
